Formed in the Summer of 2009 by Roger Wilson of the Orland Park Magic, the Chicago Select Baseball team was created to play at Cooperstown Dreams Park during week 8 of 2009. The Chicago Select team was made up of top players from some of Chicago's top baseball programs who all shared in the same goal to win at Cooperstown Dreams Park. After finishing pool play as the #3 Seed out of 104 teams the Chicago Select team liked their chances heading into the championship rounds against some of the premier teams in the country. With a disappointing loss in the first game of playoffs to the 30th seed on a walk-off Homerun, the Chicago Select players learned another valuable lesson in baseball. " Any one can win on any given day!"
Although the loss at Cooperstown was by far the toughest loss to date for many, the players all had a great time and became good friends through the process. With a month off to think about what could have been at Cooperstown, the Chicago Select Group decided to get back together and play in the local Labor Day Blastoff in Lynwood, IL. With a Championship win in the tournament the Chicago Select group was back off and running to where we are today.

Today our Chicago Select Team is a Fall & Spring National Exposure program. With fall and spring trips to East Cobb, Florida and Arizona, the program bring together top level and dedicated baseball players who share the same goal of playing baseball year round in their continued effort to make the top levels. In what turned out to be a beautiful Opening weekend at the Triple Crown Fall Nationals in St. Augustine, Florida the Chicago Select team finished the tournament with a 4-2 record and third seed overall in the 14U Division. Chicago Select opened pool play on Friday afternoon at Flagler College with an 8-2 victory over Falcons Baseball from Miami, Florida. Diamond Owlz pitcher Brandon Krennrich picked up the win, with the save going to Owlz pitcher Ryan Sargent. For complete tournament coverage click the tournament link to the left.
