Owlz Lose 4th game of the season to the Beverly Mudcats Thursday night at the St. Joe's Rage Memorial Invite.

The Illinois Diamond Owlz suffered their 4th loss of the season Thursday night to a strong Beverly Mudcats team in the St. Joe's Rage Memorial Invite. Owlz started Cole Nelson who kept the Mudcats scoreless through 4 innings before the Mudcats manufactured two runs in the top of the 5th inning off Owlz pitcher Matt Ellis. Owlz got back the two runs in the bottom half of the 5th with a lead off triple by Tyler Halas and back to back doubles from Will Corn and Cole Nelson.
Mudcats managed to string together four hits in the top half of the 7th and score three more runs to take a 5-2 lead into the bottom half of the 7th. Down before but never out, the Owlz were poised to mount a comeback but fell just short by two runs. It was one of those days, Owlz out-hit the Mudcats who provided outstanding outfield support for their team and stranded 14 Owlz runners in the game which proved to make the difference
