Happy Fathers Day!
Diamond Owlz win Schaumburg Seminoles Slugfest!
Beat Northwest Indiana Shockers in Championship Game.

Sunday June 20th
Trout Park, Elgin Illinois

The Illinois Diamond Owlz won their fourth tournament Championship of the year Sunday, giving their fathers the best fathers day present one could have! Owlz took care of business in pool play beating the Top Prospects 9-3 at Flyers Stadium and the Illinois Indians 12-0 at Trout park to capture the #3 seed in the Seminoles Slugfest play-off rounds. The semi-finals saw a 16-2 blowout from the #3 seed Diamond Owlz over the #2 seed Buffalo Grove Bearcats to advance to the championship game against the waiting #1 seed Shockers who beat the Seminoles in a come from behind win to advance to the championship game.

In the Championship game, Owlz bats put a quick two spot on the board to start the game which proved to be enough for the veteran lefty Alex Troop on the mound. Troop pitched four strong innings keeping Shockers hitters off balance before turning the game over to Cole Nelson and Tyler Halas to close the door in the Owlz 6-3 victory. "They are a very Strong team the Shockers"! The Owlz couldn't have been more pleased to have the match up with the Shockers before our departure to the Elite Battle in the South Tuesday. The Championship win comes on the Owlz 50th game of the season giving the Owlz a (43-6-1) record heading into their toughest stretch of the season. More impressive the owlz have scored 463 runs in their 50 games while allowing only 142 runs to cross the plate for an average of just under 3 runs allowed per game.

The Owlz true test starts this week as the Owlz gear up to face some of the nations best teams at the Battle in the South and the Cincy Flames Classic the second week of July! With games against some of the nations best to include the Mill Creek Hawks (GA), Houston Sox (TX), East Cobb Trojans (GA), Lids Indiana Bulls (IN) just to name a few, the Owlz are geared up to win some games and make a big jump in the national rankings!

GO Diamond Owlz!
