Wow!!! What a great week-end of baseball. The 11th annual Joey Kledzik Memorial Tournament was staged in Plainfield over the Memorial Day week-end, and, as always proved to be one of the premier events of the season. We cannot say enough about the job that Barb Kledzik and the Plainfield baseball organization does in maintaining the quality of this tournament year after year. Once again, the level of competition was second to none, demanding the highest level of baseball from those who reached the trophy rounds.

The coaches could not be more proud of the performance turned in by the boys. They played their finest baseball of the year, in recovering from an opening loss, only to reach the semi-finals with three straight victories and secure a fourth place finish. The accolades are too numerous to mention, but suffice it to say that it was a true team effort. The players are finally coming into their own, and we should only see more impressive results as we now get into the heart of our season.

Again, a warm thank you to Barb and all of the tourney participants for an outstanding job, See you next year!!

Wow. What a fantastic week-end. For baseball purists and fanatics, there is no substitute for the experience of the College World Series and the Omaha Slumpbuster Tournament for the team. It was our second annual trek for this festival, and nothing comes close to this event in terms of the fun and memories that we will always cherish.

Our boys rode deep into the tournament, playing 6 games against stiff competition from across the country. Games against teams from Texas, Iowa, Missouri, Idaho and Colorado produced a fantastic second place finish. The kids gave it everything they had with just 9 players and took the eventual D3 champion Des Moines Hawks to the limit in the championship game. They played their hearts out, fought to the finish and had the experience of a lifetime.

Congratulation to all 9 players for a great tournament. Rest assured, we will get them next year!!!

Next up is the Bennie Newsome Memorial Tournament, which, again will provide some of the best competition in the Upper Midwest. Hmmm, 4th place in the Joey Kledzik Memorial, 3rd place in the St Charles tournament, and now 2nd place in Omaha's Slumpbuster. Could it finally be our turn for the top position?
