The 14U Illinois Diamond Owlz is a National Exposure Travel Team and plays local games at Wheaton Academy in West Chicago and Trout Park in Elgin. The Illinois Diamond Owlz team members are from the entire Chicago land Area and have no boundaries. All members share the same goal of playing highly competitive travel baseball at the National level and against top local teams. By playing top competition owlz players will increase their future opportunities of competing at the high school and college levels. The Diamond Owlz also have a continuing commitment to developing our children into responsible, good students and civic-minded adults. We hope you like what you see and will become a Owlz fan. After the Owlz successful 2010 season, the 2011 Diamond Owlz will again play a National Schedule. With Invites to the 14U Battle in the South, Cincy Flames Classic and Queen City Invitational the 14U Diamond Owlz will also play in local tournaments at the 15U level. Lichtenstein returns to the Hot Rods for a second consecutive season, his sixth overall in the Rays' farm system, and his third working with Williams. The Chicago-native led Hot Rods hurlers in 2009, leading with a staff that featured South Atlantic League All-Star Chris Andujar and the strikeout leader in Minor League Baseball, left-hander Matt Moore. Lichtenstein's return to the Hot Rods also marks a return to the Midwest League, the Hot Rods new home in 2010. He served as pitching coach of the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays in 2005 and 2006. He coached with Williams during the '06 season in Michigan and again in 2008, the last of his two years in Vero Beach.
